--- title: StormScope Fast Demo sdk: gradio sdk_version: 6.12.0 python_version: 3.12 app_file: app.py pinned: false license: mit short_description: StormScope nowcast map demo. --- # StormScope Fast Demo This Space is a lightweight public demo for `rustwx-stormscope`. It shows a StormScope 10-minute nowcast cycle as transparent overlays on an OpenStreetMap basemap, using the same web-map product shape generated by the release package. It also includes a ZeroGPU runtime probe and a guarded live nowcast runner. The bundled demo cycle is pre-rendered. Full live StormScope inference is not enabled by default on ZeroGPU because the production fast path depends on a validated CUDA/PyTorch/NATTEN/torchao stack, model weights, and live satellite data fetches. The runtime probe shows what Hugging Face assigns at launch time; the observed deployment reported a Blackwell `sm_120` MIG GPU, but that is still not the same as the local RTX 5090 stack used for the optimized release path. When `STORMSCOPE_ENABLE_LIVE=1` and the full package/dependency stack is installed in the Space image, the live runner calls `python -m rustwx_stormscope.run` and then `python -m rustwx_stormscope.webmap_preview` to replace the map with freshly generated overlays. Public deployments should leave live mode off until that dependency path has been validated. Source package: https://github.com/FahrenheitResearch/rustwx-stormscope
